Crown Lands
The Crown Lands Committee recently investigated the possibility of developing
Crown Land within the Municipality of Our Town. Several test holes were dug
at Longs Hill to see if this would be a feasible site.
As a result of the findings, the committee made recommendation to the
Town Council to pursue this further. Council has agree to hire a planner
to develop several residential building lots in the Crown Land area just
off Longs Hill.

Update 1 | Our town planner recently visited us to look at our Crown Land proposal.
While here he made a visit to the site documenting various items that he required .
He will now prepare a plan for us which we will present to the Crowns Lands
Department of the Provincial Government - hopefully things will turn out in our favour.
If so our next step will be to consult an engineering firm to look at the feasibility
of such a project and the actual cost of development.

Update 2 | Members of our Crown Lands Committee recently met (April 2015) with a
representative from Harris and Associates to discuss specifics for
developing a subdivision in the Longs Hill area. The acquisition of
crown land for such a development project is a lengthy process due to
the number of Government Departments that has to give approval.
The committee is very pleased with the progress to date and hopefully
we will be able to make some major announcements in the not too distant future.
