Just wondering if Don Burt is still mayor or if he is still hanging his hat in your community. He used to live here with me back when we both had some color in our hair. Would really like to get in touch with him or Kathy again. Thanks Admin: Mr Burt is no longer the Mayor in Old Perlican. He and Kathy now live in Port Union, where he serves on the council for the Town of Trinity Bay North.

Fondly remember spending my summers in the 1960's,catching capelin on the beach & selling what we didn't consume to the local bait depot which was operated by my uncle, March Frank Howell as well as fishing with my Uncle Raymond Pike on his new Longliner named the 'Robert Carl'.

I would love to visit your community and perhaps will during the coming summer. I also would love to see more pictures.

I was born in Old Perlican in 1956 and left within the year (my father was the local Doctor - Derek Price). Found this site by accident - I wonder if anyone remembers my Dad or Mum (Vicki) - they always spoke fondly of what at the time was clearly a very distant outpost. Now live in the UK having emigrated/immigrated twice - lived in Saskatoon, Winnipeg, and Ottawa at various times - now 50 miles west of London. Congratulations on your 40th Anniversary too...
